This is the cable that put us in so many Garmin owners' corners. Two USB-A leads with the four-pin plug Garmin has used since the Fenix 5, so the same pair charges a Forerunner 255 tonight and an Instinct 2 tomorrow.

  • Four-pin plug seats into the back of Fenix 5 to 8, Forerunner 45 to 965, Venu, Vivoactive 3 to 6 and Instinct 2 and 3
  • A voltage regulator and PTC fuse sit inside the plug, so a laptop port or a wall brick cannot push too much current into the watch
  • Data sync rides the same wire: plug into a computer and Garmin Express sees the watch
  • Two full 3.3 ft cables in the box, so the spare is already there the day the first one goes missing

In your corner

Most of us lose a Garmin cable the same way: it stays plugged in at the office, or it rides home in a hotel drawer. We built this pair so the second cable is never a crisis. One stays by the bed, the other goes in the gym bag or the car, and the watch never sits at three percent waiting for you to find the original.

The plug is the familiar black shoe with four gold pins. Press it straight into the port until it clicks, and the charging animation shows on the watch face within a second. If it does not, wipe the four contacts on the watch with a dry cloth: sweat salt is the usual reason a good cable looks dead.

What owners say

Real reviews, word for word.

Great deal, great charger, so far no problem

I broke the original that came with my watch Garmin Active VIVO 5. Works great I keep one in my car and one in the house. I charge it while I’m in my car charges fast.

Powers well

Charges my Garmin as it should. This is the second time I've purchased. Like the original Garmin power cord, they have to be replaced each year.

chill

not bad for Garmin chargers but after a few months some of these cables stop working with my watch. they are cheap and get the job done, they are also flexible and look like the original cables. Decent thickness although it has been so long since I have had an official Garmin charger I can't really compare
